:: Friday, September 30, 2005 :: Went to the doctor and all I have to show for it is ALIEN EYESSSSssssssssssss!:: Thursday, September 29, 2005 :: One of my rock boyfriends, Nick Cave, has been busy with his wife and with writing the script and music for the film The Proposition. The film is set in the 1880s and stars Guy Pearce (remember Memento?) as the middle of three bushranger brothers who is asked by police to betray one sibling in order to save the other. This article says that he's worked on a Gladiator sequel(?!?). And yes, just as I love the "fat" Elvis, I do accept NC's facial hair wholeheartedly - photo taken at the The Proposition premiere.:: Wednesday, September 28, 2005 :: Origivation Magazine CD Review:: Sunday, September 25, 2005 :: Wahh! I wasn't even considered for Miss Indie Rock 2005 - I'll be putting some vaseline on my teeth for 2006. See the contenders here.:: Wednesday, September 21, 2005 :: In the name of nostalgia and a lightning prod memory of how cool Steve McQueen really is I'll post the flyer from the first gig::: Monday, September 19, 2005 :: The DAP3 show went swimmingly. Special thanks to Tim Coslar for coordination and $$$ and being a champion of local music. The Invasion have broken up for good and those of you who never saw them missed a terrific live show - listen here.:: Saturday, September 17, 2005 :: The News Journal (Delaware) had an expose on Bullette today. Among the many kind things Ryan Cormier wrote: "The impressive mix of shimmering pop, classic rock and techno sounds has introduced the world to Bullette, a genre-defying artist in an area where cover bands thrive and undefinable music usually falls by the wayside." - entire article here:: Friday, September 16, 2005 :: Old School Newark Dave McGurgan reviews "The Secrets" and promotes the DAP3 show in one fell swoop.:: Thursday, September 15, 2005 :: The lovely Brenda Stardom, a transplanted American in Portugal, has reviewed "The Secrets". One of the many great lines - "The songs are crafted like a Frank Lloyd Wright or even a Michaelangelo." - the rest here...:: Wednesday, September 14, 2005 :: Ryan Cormier of the News Journal came by a BULLETTE practice last night and asked some probing questions. Expect to see some photos and read some answers in Saturday's Delaware paper.:: Tuesday, September 13, 2005 :: AMEN! The original pledge was written by a Baptist minister's son, Francis Bellamy, to commemorate the 400th anniversary of Christopher Columbus' landing in America and did not include the reference to God. Congress adopted the pledge in 1942 and "under God" was added in 1954.:: Monday, September 12, 2005 ::
5 days until DAP3 - please tell your friends - this will be a GREAT show with GREAT bands.:: Saturday, September 10, 2005 :: I like the Like - esp. the synchronized swimmers in their video - Boyz are going to love these doe-eyed girls with high boots and short pants. The drummer has a nice holly hobby fashion sense too. And on further investigation - they're semi-rock royalty - well connected... SEE THE LIKE:: Wednesday, September 07, 2005 :: I'm featured in today's Podcast NYC: Podsafe Music!:: Tuesday, September 06, 2005 :: This is what happens when you try to give a haircut to a struggling dog.:: Monday, September 05, 2005 :: Is It Possible?? The bill features five local acts ranging from rock to punk to hip-hop including The Cocks, Endless Mike Jam Box, The Invasion, Bullette and Splitfaces. It's $10 at the door to get into what has grown to a much-anticipated show each year. - from the Delaware News Journal :: Thursday, September 01, 2005 :: BEFORE AND AFTER SHOTS: It goes without saying that you should donate some money to help the Gulf Coast cope with the disaster - it's tax deductible and it will make you feel less helpless and heartsick.
