Thank you to those that attended for an attentive audience to the Higher Ground concert. It was a lively crowd and I hope that the projected goal was met by the Wave of Relief team.

And most thanks of course to Hangnail Phillips, William the Conqueror, Gregor Alligator, and Saint Paul for your dedication to the BULLETTE songs.

xo,
MB

Podcast with laryngitis? - the 'psycherêve dot com' called BULLETTE's songs "lollipop burlesque".

also - forgot to mention that Rob Montejo's artwork is just a block away from the BULLETTE show on Friday. Check it out before it comes down on Saturday.

Thank you to my bandmates and to everyone who came out to see BULLETTE last night. Please forgive any snarky remarks I made - it was the nurse's outfit talking.

Look at this sublime drawing:

"A man who, through sheer force of will, was able to make the most of his own awkwardness..."

I must go see this exhibit. My desk calendar is an image of "Poplars at Saint-Rémy" and it keeps me wistful and calm.

Urban Outfitters emailed me with 2 words that I hoped never to see: "Gaucho Collection". why why why?? What percentage of women look good in this?? What's next? We've already survived the poncho and those front tie shrug sweaters that make women's chests look awful - next summer is all about the culotte! And what about the guys? A codpiece might be the thing to keep up those baggy trousers.... I can see it now...

okay - enough fun - get depressed by looking at this satellite image.

Kabir has honored BULLETTE by posting "The Secrets" as the first non-commercial album featured on RAW LIKE SASHIMI. And with such praise too! "...she is perhaps the most gifted female lyricist we have since Fiona Apple." and "The wonderful thing here is that Monika's clear voice (I would say its a mixture between a young Jewel and Loretta Lynn, with Bonnie Raitts' spunk)" - full review here - Thank you!

Addendum: He also reviewed Hangnail's album "Wit's End"! "... a raw, primal intensity that only serves to reinforce the severity of the subject matter, and the passion behind the music".

Yes WISH, I may I wish I might. These are some things that have me eschewing my attempts at minimalism and consumerism - they're so nice!

PRADA DRESS - I want want want it covet it!!!

2 blurbs from SPIN from one of my other rock boyfriends, Marilyn Manson, all about: "...people who mistake empowerment for entitlement." and how "Artists should be on the same level as scientists.".

How to Walk Through A Museum - some interesting comments. I was lucky enough to have parents who saw the worth in Art (with a Big A and a little a).
